The citizens' initiative "For the Preservation of the Departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Pediatrics at Dornbirn Hospital" has reached the required number of signatures in Vorarlberg and is therefore formally successful.

The citizens' initiative to preserve the maternity ward at Dornbirn Hospital is officially successful. As the regional electoral authority announced on Monday, exactly 17,605 eligible voters signed the support lists. This significantly exceeded the threshold of 5,000 signatures stipulated in the Vorarlberg state constitution.

The signature collection ran under the abbreviated title "For the Preservation of the Departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Pediatrics at Dornbirn Hospital" and could be supported until 10 June. After the entry week, the regional electoral authority reviewed the results from the municipalities and determined the number of eligible voters at 272,136 persons as well as the number of valid entries. The authority thereby established the formal success of the initiative, as it announced on Monday.
