Climbing Accidents in Lower Austria: Children Injured

According to police, the second accident occurred in the late afternoon in Gänserndorf. A nine-year-old girl was reportedly on a high-ropes course together with her mother. At the end of a parcours, the girl had detached herself from the safety system and attempted to reach the ground via the emergency rope instead of the cable slide.

In doing so, the girl apparently lost her grip, the press release stated. As a result, the nine-year-old fell from a height of approximately four meters. Rescue services were alerted.

The girl's injuries were described as serious. The rescue helicopter "Christophorus 9" transported the nine-year-old to the Klinik Donaustadt in Vienna. Here, too, no further details about the child's condition were initially released.
