A twelve-year-old boy from the Netherlands fell 20 to 30 meters over steep, rocky terrain during a mountain tour with his 46-year-old father on Tuesday morning in Längenfeld in the Tyrolean Ötztal (District of Imst) and remained lying unconscious, as police reported in the evening.
Course of the fall
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the municipal area of Längenfeld in the District of Imst. The twelve-year-old boy, who had traveled to the Ötztal with his 46-year-old father from the Netherlands, lost his way during the joint mountain tour and fell 20 to 30 meters over steep, rocky terrain. He then remained lying unconscious.
According to police, the father was immediately on the scene when his son lost his footing. The 46-year-old administered first aid and alerted the emergency services. The mountain rescue service and an emergency doctor helicopter were flown to the accident site.
