Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands have reaffirmed their cooperation to protect the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage site, during a conference in Esbjerg.
The conference, which started on Wednesday, brings together over 200 representatives from authorities, nature conservation organizations, and the scientific community to discuss efforts to protect the Wadden Sea.
The WWF has renewed its call to stop gas and oil production in the Wadden Sea area by 2030, citing the need to protect the unique ecosystem.
Background
The three countries have been working together to protect the Wadden Sea since 1978 and have reaffirmed their commitment to continue this cooperation.
The conference is taking place in Esbjerg, Denmark, and is the 15th meeting of its kind.
