Cuba is grappling with crippling power outages, with some Havana neighborhoods enduring up to 22 hours without electricity daily, as the country’s fuel supply system collapses.
Widespread Blackouts Cripple Daily Life
Residents of Havana and other Cuban cities are facing extreme power shortages, with outages lasting 20 to 22 hours per day in many areas, according to Vicente de la O, a local official. "Viele Stadtteile seien 20 bis 22 Stunden täglich ohne Strom," de la O stated, highlighting the severity of the crisis.
The prolonged blackouts have disrupted essential services, including hospitals, schools, and businesses, forcing many to rely on generators or makeshift solutions. Public frustration is mounting as the government struggles to stabilize the grid.
