The DAX is set for a slight gain of 0.3 percent to 24,747 points ahead of the Xetra start on Monday, while Asian bourses are trading unevenly and geopolitical risks are weighing on sentiment.

Mixed cues from Asia

Broker IG priced the German leading index roughly two and a half hours before the Xetra start 0.3 percent higher at 24,747 points. This points to a more solid start for the DAX on Monday, after a weak previous week. At that time, the DAX had closed on Friday with a loss of 1.3 percent at 24,671 points. The weekly loss roughly matched the daily loss.

On Friday, the DAX had at one point slumped to 24,547 points, but ultimately held its 50-day line. The NASDAQ 100 in the US had likewise tested and defended its 50-day line on Friday, just like the DAX. From the perspective of DZ Bank, no short-term impulses are to be expected, and there also appears to be a lack of momentum for share price increases.
