The German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) has pointed in its training report to persistently high levels of dissatisfaction among apprentices and sees structural pressures within the dual training system as the main cause.
What the report examines
The German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) has presented its training report, which examines the situation of apprentices in the dual training system nationwide. The study focuses on trainees' satisfaction, their workload, and their willingness to switch companies or change their chosen occupation. According to the union, the findings paint a picture of growing frustration.
The DGB study concludes that a significant proportion of apprentices feel overstretched in their daily work. DGB-Jugend noted that psychological pressures, financial worries, and uncertainties about career choices frequently interact. This has a direct impact on whether young people complete their apprenticeship or drop out prematurely.
