Just days before the World Cup opening match in Mexico City, around 14,000 holders of season tickets at the Azteca Stadium have won a years-long legal battle with FIFA and stadium operator Ollamani over their free entry to five matches.
A contract from the 1960s
The holders of 600 box seats and 8,000 individual seats from the 1960s insisted on their right to attend the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and four other games at the Azteca Stadium without payment. As several consistent media reports show, they legally enforced this right through the association AMTPP (Asociación Mexicana de Titulares de Palcos y Plateas).
