In the night leading into Monday, a 20-year-old Austrian drove his car off a forest road in the municipality of Tux in the district of Schwaz and plunged around 150 meters into the depths, rolling over multiple times in the process.
The accident occurred shortly after midnight at an altitude of around 2,000 meters above sea level. According to police, the driver left the forest road with his car for reasons that remain unclear. The vehicle then plunged around 150 meters down the slope, rolling over several times in the process.
First responders who happened to pass the scene climbed down to the victim and set the rescue chain in motion. According to them, the 20-year-old remained responsive throughout the entire operation.
