In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the number of confirmed Ebola cases has risen to 1,307, including 377 deaths; the authorities are also reporting more than 3,000 suspected infections across four provinces.

As authorities in the Central African country announced, more than 3,000 infections have now been confirmed. According to the Congolese government, 1,307 of these are classified as confirmed Ebola cases, while the remaining suspected cases are still being verified. Since the virus broke out a little over a month ago in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the number of confirmed cases has risen to more than 1,000. The cases have occurred in the three eastern provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu, the government announced late Monday evening.
