Eighty-year-old woman falls off motorcycle in Lower Austria and is seriously injured

The Lower Austria State Police Directorate confirmed the course of events. The statement read verbatim: „Die 80-jährige Frau erlitt Verletzungen schweren Grades. Sie wurde nach der Erstversorgung mit einem Notarzthubschrauber in das Landesklinikum Horn geflogen. Der 30-Jährige erlitt Verletzungen leichten Grades.

The accident site is located in the municipality of Watzelsdorf, a small locality in the Hollabrunn district in the Weinviertel region. The ride was heading toward the neighboring town of Guntersdorf.

Both parties involved are from the Hollabrunn district. The police did not provide further information regarding the exact identity of those involved in the accident.

Investigations and background

According to the current state of the investigation, the fall was triggered by the bump or road unevenness that the motorcycle drove over. No other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident, according to their own statements.
