Tractor and car collide on the L1075 in Hohenzell – 49-year-old driver injured

The injured woman was unable to leave her vehicle on her own and had to be freed from the car by the fire department. After receiving initial medical care, she was taken to a hospital. No precise information about the severity of the injuries was initially available.

Why exactly the collision occurred remains unclear. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing. The L1075 state road was closed in the area of the accident site for the duration of the recovery and cleanup work.

Cause of accident still unclear

The police pointed out that overtaking maneuvers on state roads – particularly in the area of turning maneuvers by slower vehicles – carry an increased risk. The exact sequence of events is now to be reconstructed by the responsible authorities.

The incident is a reminder of the dangers that arise when faster-moving cars encounter slower agricultural vehicles. Tractors turning into field paths or farm tracks reduce their speed significantly and can sometimes be difficult for following road users to assess.

Police appeal for witnesses

Residents and first responders who witnessed the accident were in shock. An eyewitness later described: „Ich war in einer Schockstarre". The fire department praised the quick reaction of passersby, who immediately called emergency services.

The authorities are asking witnesses who observed the accident to contact the police. Information can be submitted at the nearest police station in the Ried im Innkreis district.

In addition to the human suffering, there was also property damage to both vehicles. The tractor was significantly damaged in the collision; the car was no longer drivable and had to be towed away.
