The manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for the eurozone rose to 49.8 points in July 2026, according to S&P Global, signaling a slight recovery in industrial activity across the currency area.
The S&P Global manufacturing PMI for the eurozone climbed to 49.8 points in July, after coming in at 49.5 the previous month. A reading below 50 indicates a contraction in the sector, but the rise shows that the downward trend is continuing to ease. The composite index, which also includes the services sector, was released separately by S&P Global.
S&P Global Chief Economist Chris Williamson said the July data showed signs of stabilization. „Supply chain burdens and energy prices remain at a high level given ongoing tensions in the Middle East“, Williamson said according to the report. He pointed to two key risk factors that continue to put pressure on Europe as a production location.
