Due to a World War bomb found in the Rhine, the Rheinpark in Cologne has been evacuated on a large scale; RTL's local broadcasting operations have been relocated.

Background of the Bomb Discovery

Due to a World War bomb discovered in the Rhine, the security authorities have evacuated the Kölner Rheinpark as well as adjacent areas along the Rhine on a large scale. The measure affects a central recreational and event location of the city, including the area around the Tanzbrunnen.

The City of Cologne ordered the evacuation; the responsible Ordnungsamt Köln (Public Order Office) coordinated the measures on site. Residents and visitors to the park were urged to leave the affected area immediately.
