Due to high fuel prices in the wake of the Iran war, almost a third of drivers in Germany are leaving their vehicles parked more frequently, according to a survey. Among those under 30, the figure is as high as 35 percent. This is according to Teambank's "Liquidity Barometer," for which the market research institute YouGov surveyed more than 3,000 people in a representative poll.
At the same time, 41 percent report that their disposable income after deducting fixed costs such as rent and electricity has decreased over the past twelve months. One in five respondents says they are willing to save around 100 euros per month in the area of cars, fuel, and auto insurance. This makes it the area in which people are most willing to cut back.
