The black-red federal government plans to gradually reduce state subsidies for heat pumps and other climate-friendly heating systems over the coming years, according to a draft document for the Bundestag's budget committee.
Under the draft, which is available to the ARD capital studio, the maximum subsidy amount for most households is to drop every six months going forward. Currently, property owners switching to a low-emission heating system can receive state funding of up to 70 percent, derived from the combination of various programs. The maximum investment cost grant available for a heating system replacement is 21,000 euros.
For the vast majority of households, this amount is to be gradually reduced soon. Households with an annual income above 30,000 euros are initially to receive no more than 19,600 euros, then further reduced in six-month steps to 13,200 euros by 2030. For higher incomes of 40,000 euros per year and above, a current maximum of 16,500 euros already applies, which is likewise to be gradually cut to as low as 6,600 euros.
