Following the forest fire in the Föhrenwald in the Lower Austrian district of Neunkirchen, an affected forest owner is sharply criticizing the authorities because the costs for the ordnance survey are being imposed on private owners.
Extent of the Damage
The Föhrenwald between Wiener Neustadt and Neunkirchen was the scene of a major forest fire in recent days, the consequences of which the owners now have to bear. Particularly affected is Josef Grabner, a former police commander, who inherited approximately 3.6 hectares of black pine forest in the Föhrenwald from his parents together with his sister. In interviews, he describes that his property was severely affected by the fire and that he has since been waiting for information from the responsible authorities.
