The Vienna public prosecutor's office has indicted a former train driver for sexual abuse of boys at the Strasshof Railway Museum and on the Nordbahn site.

According to the authorities, the accused had worked for years as a volunteer at the Strasshof Railway Museum in the district of Gänserndorf. The Vienna public prosecutor's office accuses him of having sexually abused several boys there and on the Nordbahn site. The indictment was filed in court on Monday, as reported by the Austria Presse Agentur (APA).

Indictment and Allegations

The boys were largely enthusiastic railway fans. By visiting the museum, the man had an occasional opportunity to strike up conversations with them, the public prosecutor's office explained. Through the shared enthusiasm for railways, the man is said to have gained the trust of the children and young people and committed the acts.
