At the start of the second week of the holiday season, the prices for gasoline and diesel at Austrian gas stations have risen again, according to data from the regulatory authority E-Control.

On Monday, the average price for premium gasoline in Austria stood at 1.773 euros per liter. On the preceding Sunday, premium had still been noticeably cheaper at 1.729 euros, and by the Friday before it had already climbed to 1.786 euros.

The picture for diesel is similar: on Friday, the diesel price climbed to 1.859 euros per liter, and on Sunday it temporarily fell back to 1.802 euros. In April, diesel in Austria had at times cost more than 2.20 euros per liter.
