Germany's two-month fuel tax cut, known as the Tankrabatt, is reaching drivers at the petrol station, economists and the ADAC said, while environmental and consumer groups warned that the policy has done little to ease the burden on households.

Pass-Through at the Pump

The German federal government's temporary fuel tax cut, in force since the start of the summer relief package and set to expire at the end of June, has reduced prices at the pump, according to several analysts interviewed on Deutschlandfunk. ADAC spokesperson Katharina Luca said the rebate is being passed on to consumers, though she suggested prices could fall further.
