The German Foreign Office has massively expanded its travel warning for Russia in light of intensified Ukrainian drone attacks, and it now applies to the entire territory of the Russian Federation.
Expansion of the warning
The German government is warning against travel to Russia, significantly going beyond the previous risk areas along the border with Ukraine. As the Foreign Office announced, "considerable danger" from drones or drone debris is to be expected across all of Russia. This is accompanied by significant restrictions in air travel, energy supply, and local public transport.
"Das Auswärtige Amt hat seine Reisewarnung für Russland angesichts der verteilten ukrainischen Drohnenangriffe massiv ausgeweitet," according to Berlin. Specifically, the ministry names the city area and surroundings of Moscow, the surroundings of St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Oblast, and other parts of the country as places where massive drone attacks repeatedly occur.
