Pieve di Soligo, 28 May 2026
French sprinter Paul Magnier won Stage 18 of the Giro d'Italia in a sprint finish in Pieve di Soligo on Thursday, while Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard defended the overall leader's pink jersey.
Magnier, riding for the Soudal team, proved fastest from a reduced peloton of around 60 riders at the end of the 171-kilometer route from Fai della Paganella. He beat Italian duo Edoardo Zambanini of Bahrain and Jonathan Milan of Lidl to the line on a rising straight.
The victory marks Magnier's third of this year's race, adding to his earlier triumphs on Stage 1 and Stage 3. The Frenchman timed his sprint perfectly to hold off the fast-finishing Italians.
For Milan, the wait for a stage win continues. The Italian, riding for the German Lidl team, had to settle for third place once again, missing out on his long-awaited victory on home roads.
