Google has integrated the Google Earth flight simulator into the browser version of its mapping service, making it accessible without any software installation.

From a Hidden Easter Egg to a Web Feature

The flight simulator has been included as an Easter egg in the desktop version of Google Earth for nearly two decades, and for a long time could only be accessed there via a keyboard shortcut. Google has now migrated the offering into the web interface of Google Earth. As Google explains in a blog post, the flight simulator runs in any web browser and is available free of charge to all users. The move to the web eliminates the need to install the desktop program, so the feature is likely to reach a broader audience.
