Erling Haaland has returned to Oslo with the Norwegian national football team following the World Cup quarter-final loss to England and caused a stir during the royal audience at the palace with a stuffed raccoon as a souvenir from Texas.
The Norwegian team landed at Gardermoen Airport and was then received at the Royal Palace in Oslo by King Harald, Crown Prince Haakon and other members of the royal family. On the palace square there was a rowing party, where the players slipped into the role of Vikings in a replica boat. As the Norwegian royal household announced, the Crown Prince set the rowing tempo and drummed the rhythm. "Ich habe mein Bestes gegeben, wir sind etwas ins Hintertreffen geraten. Sie haben gut gerudert," Haakon said according to The Athletic, admitting that he had practiced beforehand.
