Hamburg, August 3, 2026
Bundesliga club Hamburger SV has released the Frenchman Jean-Luc Dompé because, according to the club, he has no prospects in the squad for the upcoming season.
Hamburger SV and Jean-Luc Dompé will go their separate ways going forward. As the club announced on Monday, the player has been released with immediate effect. This brings an end to an engagement that, according to the club, closely linked the HSV and the attacking player over the years.
Sporting director Claus Costa explained the decision in a club statement. "Jean-Luc and HSV have a great deal to thank each other for with regard to the past years. However, his sporting situation already changed significantly over the course of the previous second half of the season. After close consultation with the coaches, we have come to the conclusion that Jean-Luc no longer has a place in our plans for the upcoming season," Costa said.
