Mats Hummels has publicly called for Germany to replace national team coach Julian Nagelsmann after the defending champions were knocked out of the World Cup in the round of 16 by Paraguay.

Mats Hummels, the 2014 World Cup winner, used his role as a pundit on MagentaTV to demand that the German Football Association (DFB) make a change at the top of the national team setup. "Wenn man die ganze Faktenlage sieht, dann würde ich sagen, es muss sich auf der Trainerposition was ändern", sagte der 37-Jährige als Experte bei MagentaTV. The comments came shortly after Germany were eliminated on penalties by Paraguay, extending a run of underwhelming major-tournament performances.

A pointed critique of the coach's conduct
