During a control operation by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Houston, Texas, the Mexican immigrant Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was killed on Tuesday by shots fired by a federal officer.

The US Department of Homeland Security announced on the platform X that ICE officers had attempted on Tuesday to stop the man's vehicle during a control operation in Houston. According to the account, Salgado rammed an ICE operation vehicle, ignored multiple verbal instructions, and used his vehicle as a weapon in an attempt to run over an ICE federal employee.
