The US semiconductor manufacturer Intel is expanding its announced capital increase from 15 billion to 20 billion US dollars (around 17.3 billion euros) in order to meet the rising demand in the AI business.

The chip group Intel has significantly increased the scope of its planned share placement. As the company announced on Tuesday in Santa Clara in the US state of California, new shares worth 20 billion US dollars are now to be issued. Previously, a volume of 15 billion US dollars had been planned.
