The Jordanian armed forces said on Thursday they had shot down eight of ten ballistic missiles that Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces had directed at the Azraq military base.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard fired ten ballistic missiles at the Jordanian military base of Azraq on Thursday, as they announced through state media. The Jordanian armed forces said they shot down eight of the missiles. According to the armed forces, no one was injured and no property damage occurred. Debris fell to the ground as a result of the interception measures.
The ballistic missiles were reportedly fired from near the Iranian city of Urmia in the northwest and from the center of the country. Users on social media had previously reported the launch of missiles from several Iranian provinces even before official sources confirmed the attacks. The discrepancy between Iranian reports of ten missiles fired and the Jordanian downing report of eight missiles has not yet been publicly resolved.
