Julia Grabher's French Open campaign ended abruptly on Thursday as the Austrian retired from her second-round match against US star Amanda Anisimova after only 19 minutes of play.

The 29-year-old from Vorarlberg, ranked as Austria's number four, lost the first set 0-6 to the world number six. After a blood pressure measurement was taken on court, Grabher decided she was not fit enough to continue and shook hands at the net.

Illness Revealed After Match

The match, which lasted just 25 minutes in total including the medical assessment, took place in challenging conditions. The heat in Paris had already been cited as a factor in other matches, including Jannik Sinner's earlier struggle, but for Grabher the issue was more serious.
