EU High Representative Kallas has announced her intention to significantly expand the existing sanctions of the European Union against Russia.
According to EU High Representative Kallas, the European Union plans a noticeable tightening of its sanctions policy toward Russia. As emerges from a communication, the existing measures are to be significantly expanded. Individual steps still need to be coordinated with the member states.
According to information from the circle of EU foreign ministers, the proposals are to be discussed at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the member states. The goal is to increase the pressure on Russia in view of the ongoing war in Ukraine and to cover further areas of the Russian economy.
