Austrian ski jumper Lisa Eder has revoked her retirement, announced just a few weeks ago, and is preparing for a return to the World Cup.

Distance and Recovery as the Trigger

The Salzburg native explained on Tuesday that a deliberate break from competition and the summer months of recovery had led her to the decision not to end her career just yet. Eder is thereby officially taking back her recently announced departure from ski jumping.

Eder, who had previously drawn attention in the World Cup and at major events on multiple occasions, had previously declared her withdrawal from competitive sport. She commented only briefly on the reasons for the original decision and the subsequent change of heart. The period of distance had given her the necessary clarity.
