The heads of state and government of Germany, France, Great Britain and Ukraine have called on Russian President Vladimir Putin in a joint declaration to agree to an immediate ceasefire and to negotiations on an end to the war.

Five conditions for a "just and lasting peace"

The declaration was published on the sidelines of a meeting in London. It was signed by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The four leaders set out five conditions for a "just and lasting peace" in the document.
