Margarethen am Moos, 05 August 2026

In a residential house fire in Margarethen am Moos in the district of Bruck an der Leitha, four people were injured on Wednesday, with around 140 emergency personnel involved in the major operation.

The major fire service operation was triggered in the morning in the locality of Margarethen am Moos, where a residential house was in flames. Within a short time, the incident command raised the alert level, as the firefighting efforts were made more difficult by the heat and the location of the building. A total of four people sustained injuries, whose extent was treated by the Red Cross.

Due to the intense heat and the difficult supply of extinguishing water, the responders had to work with elaborate measures. Water was brought to the scene via a supply line almost 400 meters long and a shuttle service. Without this supply, targeted firefighting would not have been possible with the necessary intensity, according to the fire service, as stated in the operation report.
