The large-scale operation in the Lechtal attracted attention beyond the region, not least because adjacent forest areas were threatened. According to initial reports, the helicopter unit was also called in for support. The fire department was engaged in firefighting operations for hours.

Residents were asked to avoid the area around the fire site over a wide perimeter. Emergency services secured the surrounding area to keep onlookers at a distance and to keep access routes clear for firefighting vehicles. According to the fire department's assessment, cleanup operations will continue for some time.
