Treuenbrietzen, June 01, 2026

The fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon in a warehouse in Treuenbrietzen (Potsdam-Mittelmark) has been extinguished, and the federal highway B102 and the railway line, which were temporarily closed, have been reopened.

The fire broke out on Saturday in the hall located on the B102 on the outskirts of town. According to the police, pressed waste was stored in the building from GDR times. The flames spread over an area of approximately 1,500 square meters.

Due to the heavy smoke development and the associated odor nuisance, the regional control center issued a warning. Residents were asked to avoid the affected area, keep windows and doors closed, and switch off ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Closures and Warnings

The federal highway B102 was completely closed in the direction of Treuenbrietzen. Rail traffic between Potsdam and Jüterbog was also suspended. Both closures have now been lifted: according to the police, the road has been reopened, and according to the regional control center, train traffic has been running again since early Sunday morning.
