Kufstein, 25 August 2026
After extensive investigations, the Tyrolean police have dismantled a suspected drug ring in the Kufstein area, seizing cocaine and cannabis herb by the kilogram.
According to investigators, the decisive lead came from the analysis of an intercepted package. This developed over months into covert investigations, which culminated over the past weekend in multiple house searches in Kufstein, in neighboring Kiefersfelden, and in parts of Innsbruck. In addition to narcotics, officers also seized weapons, cash, and several vehicles.
Based on the current state of the investigation, the group is a network of at least eleven suspects of different nationalities. The Innsbruck Public Prosecutor's Office is leading the investigation on suspicion of organized drug trafficking. The prosecution initially declined to comment on ongoing details of the proceedings when asked by APA on Monday.
