A man died after falling inside a hay-drying box at a farm in Tux in the Zillertal valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at a farm in Tux, a municipality in the Zillertal in the district of Schwaz. According to police in Tyrol, the man suffered fatal injuries in the fall inside a hay-drying box, a structure used on Alpine farms to ventilate freshly cut grass and reduce moisture in stored hay.

Emergency services were alerted and dispatched to the farm. Rescuers attempted to save the man at the scene, but he died as a result of his injuries. Police did not release further details on Wednesday about the exact sequence of the fall.
The hay-drying box, known locally as a Heubelüftungsbox, is a tall enclosed chamber common on Tyrolean farms. Warm air is typically blown upward through fresh-cut grass stacked inside the structure to dry it before storage. Working at height on or inside such installations has been a recurring focus of farm-safety guidance in Austria's Alpine regions.
