Himberg, July 5, 2026

A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Lower Austria was killed on Saturday afternoon (July 4, 2026) in a serious accident on federal highway B15 in the municipal area of Himberg (district of Bruck an der Leitha).

According to police reports, the 47-year-old was traveling on federal highway B15 between Himberg and Ebergassing on Saturday afternoon. Presumably due to excessive speed, he left the nearly straight roadway, drove into a field adjacent to the road, crossed a field path, and suffered a serious crash. A following motorist first noticed the crashed motorcycle, turned around, and then also saw the injured motorcyclist. He immediately initiated the emergency response chain.

Police officers then attempted to resuscitate the 47-year-old Lower Austrian using a defibrillator together with first responders until the arrival of emergency services. The emergency physician from the rescue helicopter then continued the measures. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts, the emergency physician could only confirm his death. He died from his severe injuries at the accident scene.
