A municipality in the Salzburg Flachgau region has challenged the positive ruling for a pumping trial on a golf course because it fears for its drinking water amid the ongoing heatwave. Mayor Martin Köllersberger confirmed a corresponding report. The Regional Administrative Court is now set to decide.

The municipal council of a Flachgau municipality decided on Monday evening to challenge the positive ruling by the district administration for a pumping trial by the operating company of the Gut Altentann golf course, in order to protect drinking water during the ongoing heat.

As Mayor Martin Köllersberger (ÖVP) confirmed to APA a report by the "Salzburger Nachrichten," the municipal council decided on Monday evening to challenge the positive ruling by the Flachgau district administration for a pumping trial by the operating company of the Gut Altentann golf course, so that the Regional Administrative Court can decide on the matter. Köllersberger pointed to the particular strain on regional water supply in recent weeks.
