Jerusalem, July 10, 2026
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to push seven controversial bills through the Knesset before the parliamentary election planned for no later than October 27, including military service exemptions for ultra-Orthodox men and a reform of the office of the Attorney General.
Currently, seven legislative initiatives are on the agenda of the Knesset, the Israeli parliament. Each of them is a high priority for one or more parties in Netanyahu's right-wing coalition. To complete ongoing legislative procedures, however, the members of parliament can extend the session by up to 12 days. The Israeli parliament is scheduled to dissolve automatically before the upcoming election on July 15.
