A survey published on Monday by Lukas Golder's research institute shows that the Neutrality Initiative now receives only 41 percent approval in German-speaking Switzerland, while the Food Initiative is also losing support.

The figures for the Neutrality Initiative vary considerably by region. In German-speaking Switzerland, approval stands at 41 percent yes versus 57 percent no. In French-speaking Switzerland (Romandie), the ratio is 43 percent yes to 49 percent no, with a further 8 percent undecided. In Italian-speaking Switzerland, the picture is reversed: 55 percent support the initiative, while 37 percent reject it.
