Austria's regulatory authority E-Control presented the general ordinance for future electricity grid fees on Monday, according to which around three-quarters of households in Austria are to pay lower network costs in the future.
Background: What is changing in the grid tariffs?
The reform is based on the new Electricity Act (ElWG) and provides for a gradual restructuring of the tariff structure. In the future, the capacity component is to be weighted more heavily: the share of energy volume in network costs is to fall within three years from currently over 80 percent to 50 percent, while the capacity component rises to likewise 50 percent. E-Control sets the minimum capacity in the new grid tariffs at 2 kW.
