Mönchengladbach, July 21, 2026
On July 21, 2026, new funding regulations for the installation of climate-friendly heating systems and heat pumps came into force, which primarily provide stronger support to families and low-income households, but reduce the climate speed bonus.
Who Gets More, Who Gets Less?
The federal government intends to distribute funds for heating replacements in the future in a manner that is "more efficient," "more focused," and "socially balanced." According to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, the basic subsidy of 30 percent and the income bonus of an additional 30 percent for households with a taxable annual income of up to 40,000 euros remain in place. Households with a taxable annual income of less than 30,000 euros can thereby, together with other supplements, receive up to 80 percent in funding.
