Nintendo will discontinue sales of the first Switch console family in Europe in mid-February 2027, because the devices do not meet the EU requirements for user-replaceable batteries that take effect on February 18, 2027.

As Nintendo announced on a support page, shipments to retailers of the Switch, Switch Lite, and OLED model will end in mid-February 2027. "Auch der Verkauf über den Nintendo Store wird zu diesem Zeitpunkt eingestellt." This means the first Switch generation will disappear from European retail nearly ten years after its market launch. Nintendo had released the original console in spring 2017.
