The number of homicide offences in Austria fell again last year, according to current evaluations presented by Rainer Loidl and other experts.
Loidl, who researches criminalistics at FH Joanneum in Graz, explained during the presentation of the detailed evaluations that the decline does not in itself indicate a reduction in willingness to use violence. Rather, improved medical care plays a central role in ensuring that serious attacks no longer end lethally.
