Pakistan's security forces carried out airstrikes on targets in eastern Afghanistan overnight into Monday while simultaneously conducting ground operations along the Pakistani-Afghan border, killing 25 fighters of the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar group linked to the Pakistani Taliban, according to government statements.

As Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced on the X platform, three targets in the eastern Afghan provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar were destroyed in the airstrikes. Tarar spoke of "precision strikes." Information Minister Tarar wrote on the X platform that "security forces carried out a ground operation along the Pakistani-Afghan border." Hideouts and retreat areas of the Pakistani Taliban were attacked in the border region.
