Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday evening that the USA and Iran, with Pakistan's mediation, have agreed on the final text of a peace deal.

Sharif disseminated the news via the platform X. "We can confirm that a final, agreed-upon text of the peace deal has been reached," he wrote there. Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the next steps, the prime minister further explained. He also wrote: "Peace has never been as within reach as it is now."

Earlier, the Iranian news agency Mehr had reported at noon about a draft framework agreement between Iran and the USA to end the war. According to Mehr, the declaration of intent provides for a "permanent and immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon."
