A Boeing 737 Max 8 belonging to the Polish airline LOT made an intermediate landing at Milan Malpensa in the night to Thursday on the flight from Palma de Mallorca to Warsaw due to health problems of the commander.
The aircraft landed safely at Milan Malpensa airport in the Italian region of Lombardy at around 4:30 a.m. (local time), according to the available information. The commander had previously complained of health problems at around 4:05 a.m., whereupon the crew raised the alarm shortly after 4:00 a.m. No one was injured.
On board the holiday aircraft were, according to the airline, passengers on the return flight from the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca to the Polish capital. Regarding the nature of the pilot's health complaints, it was initially only known that he had become nauseous. The circumstances on board remained calm, and the crew reacted professionally.
