Lille, August 29, 2026
Paris Saint-Germain turned a 0:2 deficit into a 2:2 draw on August 28, 2026, in their Ligue 1 match at OSC Lille and took a point back with them from northwestern France.
Lille made a dazzling start at their home Stade Pierre-Mauroy and took an early lead. Hakon Arnar Haraldsson struck in the 21st minute to open the scoring before Dilane Bakwa added a second in the 84th minute, seemingly putting Lille on course for victory. Both goals were assisted by former world champion Olivier Giroud, who showcased his experience as a provider.
Paris Saint-Germain, who had headed into the new Ligue 1 season with high expectations over the summer, found no answer for large stretches of the match against the hosts' compact defense. The side coached by Luis Enrique did control the ball in spells but created almost no clear chances inside the home side's penalty area.
